In a swirl of smoke and magic and kōwhai, the magestic kererū appears and the heavens erupt. Kererū are vital to the health of our forests as only they have a gape wide enough to swallow the berries of many of our native trees. In spring, you'll find them balancing precariously on the tiniest of kōwhai branches as they gorge on the high-protein leaves and flowers.

My “Birds of a Feather” series celebrates the fact that birds are already works of art. Each picture in the series takes the bird’s colour palette and expands it into a painterly portrait. My focus is on the rare and endangered birds of Aotearoa - New Zealand.
10% of proceeds from this picture go to Zealandia EcoSanctuary to support their conservation efforts.
Available on Breathing Color Elegance Velvet fine art paper in a limited edition of 25 at 18x18cm, a limited edition of 10 at 28x28cm, and a limited edition of 5 at 40x40cm. An edition of 3 at 80x80cm is available on enquiry. Sizes above 18cm come with a signed certificate of authenticity.
