It's fungi season so rather than keeping my eyes on the sky, I've been done in the dirt looking for precious gems. There's always a toutouwai nearby to keep me company! As well as Janice, Hayley, and Linton - my fun-guy and fun-gals who make every outing at Zealandia a joy!
These tiny studies required my tiniest brushes and skinniest pens, and taxed my magnifying specs and magnifying lamp!
I'm not so good on my fungi IDs, but from top to bottom, left to right I think we have a sulphur wax gill, brittlestem, undescribed Atheniella species (according to a specialist on iNaturalist), sociable inkcap, (unidentified), orange ponchcore, (unidentified), toutouwai, shelf fungi.
The original has sold, but limited-edition A5-size hand-embellished prints are available. They are printed on fine-art paper, hand-signed, and embellished with pearlescent paints. The edition length is 30.
Many of my original paintings are embellished with pearlescent accents. I also embellish the fine-art prints made from these originals, creating a unique piece of art in the process.
