This tiny owl with such huge eyes has flown out the door, and is sold out in the large edition - this artist-proof mixed media piece is the only one I have left.
I turned this large artist's proof fine-art print (edition AP1/10) into a unique mixed-media piece. Giclee printed on the highest quality Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm fine-art paper; this piece is fixed to a deep cradle board, then enhanced with pearlescent ink and hand-painted gel impasto, giving a texture of thick brushstrokes with a gloss finish. The board's edges are hand-stenciled with an embossed design and painted in burnt umber.
No need to frame - the impasto protects the print from gentle handling, dust, etc.
Artwork size: 40x40cm and 4.3cm deep. Ready to hang with D-rings and string attached to the rear, inset so the board hangs flat to the wall.

What is an artist's proof? It is a print outside of the limited-edition, from the artist's personal collection. It is used to "proof" the colours and paper for the limited-edition print run. They are considered collector items. I have one and only one AP for each size. They are never available through galleries, but I sometimes exhibit them.
I Spy is now sold out in the large edition, but a few small, medium and extra-large prints are still available as unframed limited-edition fine-art prints.
