Summer in the Wetlands - inspired by a recent outing to weigh Zealandia's takahē. A watercolour doodle with shimmery hints of pearlescent paint. Gotta love those big blue chickens!
From top to bottom, left to right: fruiting poroporo, circling kārearea, shimmery overcast sun, dragonfly, "Nio" takahē, damselfly, pāpango, algal bloom, and Nio and Orbell takahē looking hopeful that there might be lunch provided.
Glammed up with some Daler-Rowney shimmer ink and handmade pearlescent watercolour paints! So pretty!
The original is still available along with limited-edition A5-size hand-embellished prints.

The original is on Hahnemühle Harmony cold-press 100% cotton watercolour paper. The prints are on textured fine-art paper, hand-signed, and embellished with pearlescent inks and paints. The edition length is 30 and each embellishment is unique (shown is 1/30).
